Metaphysics is considered one of the four main branches of philosophy. It addresses the fundamental questions of the original Principles and questions knowledge of the world, things and processes as they exist “beyond” and independently of the sensitive experience we have of them.
Furthermore, according to its composition, the word “metaphysics” literally means “beyond physics”, taking “physics” in the meaning that this term always had for the ancients, that of “science of nature ” in all its generality.
