‘Bahaeddin Ögel was one of the few historians who conducted research on Central Asian Turkish history using Chinese archives. He prepared important works especially in the field of Turkish cultural history. He introduced the German school and methods to Turkish researchers and developed a unique research method by fusing it with Turkish methods. He put forward theses about many historical issues such as the integrity of Turkish history, the nomadism of the Turks, and the Turkish-Mongolian issue. He wrote 20 volumes of books and more than 120 articles about his field.’
